I've been told I have the Devil's eyes Never really understood but now I do Gray and gold swirling like galaxies Stars lighting my iris for all to view When I'm sick or lonely they turn green Emeralds shining bright and bold Many have seen these eyes in this way But few know why when they behold Many emotions masking their change Once was told they became crimson Rage bellowing forth from a single look My eyes a kaleidoscope, a prison Showing how I feel without my consent I can never escape their change Revealing to me mysteries of my heart Even I would believe and find strange My eyes even change when I feel love A shade of soft and tender blue Betraying me whenever I ponder the past This color only resigned for you

I have seen your face only in pictures. I know not the touch of your hand Nor the taste of your flesh. Yet I crave you I've heard your voice only through The mutilation of recordings. Lonely hearts fill the night sky Floating upon the air carried by broken dreams Rising high into the atmosphere, their passion dwindling Drifting out into the cold of space, lost and forgotten Still beating, slowly pulsing in the inky black Waiting to be touched, waiting to feel again For only if we knew the fire that once fueled these hearts Would we understand their loneliness They light up the night, a cacophony of lovers lost An orchestra of past pain and regret twinkling in the void Lightning our darkest nights, guiding us on our paths Too reach out and touch one seems impossible The distance they have traveled insurmountable Lonely hearts fill the night sky Giving what warmth they can muster to the world below My heart is there too Shan't ever fall from the celestial ceiling whilst I am bound to this earth To fly away with mine and those hearts is what I dream For I'd rather light your darkest nights in the frozen wastes Then let my flame burn out on this
